Free ‘Face Mask Exempt’ Badges Support Disabled People

NEWS RELEASE

6th July 2020

Euan’s Guide, the access review charity, is offering free ‘Face Mask Exempt’ badges to help support disabled people and people with hidden impairments.

Whilst coming out of lockdown, face coverings are either compulsory or strongly advised in many public areas, including on public transport.

Although facemasks are an important contribution to fighting coronavirus, some people with a disability cannot wear them.

The new initiative is to help disabled people and individuals with hidden impairments get out and about without the fear of harassment, or being questioned as to why they are not wearing a face mask.

The badge has been designed to stand out and quickly alert others that there is a reason why the individual is not wearing a mask. The badge is designed to make the wearer feel more comfortable visiting places where the majority of people will be wearing face covering.

There is a limited supply of free badges available, but if you can donated just £2 towards the cost of the badge, it means the charity can produce more badges to  help more people.

Anyone looking to request a badge or find out more about how they can support this project should visit EuansGuide.com/badge
