SSAFA Gwent is part of the national SSAFA armed forces charity which covers the whole of the UK. It helps Serving Personnel and Veterans, as well as their dependants who are in need. Nationally it has over 5000 voluntary caseworkers and last year it dealt with over 35,000 requests for assistance. This meant SSAFA was able to help over 82,000 members of the Armed Forces Community, serving and veterans.
SSAFA Gwent is made up of three Divisions covering the whole of the Gwent area. We presently have 25 case workers and helpers. We are always on the lookout for enthusiastic people who would like to join the team and work in a variety of posts such as case worker, helper, treasurer as well as fundraiser. Volunteers come from a variety of backgrounds and we welcome applications from those who have not served in the Armed Forces. Full training is given and all volunteers have full support at local and national levels. All expenses while carrying out SSAFA work is refunded. If you feel you are up to the challenge and would like to take part in this very rewarding work as well as learning new skills then please make contact with:
