Equality and Diversity and Health and Safety

I am the HR Manager for SIL and I currently train staff in Equality and Diversity and also participate in the Communications training relating to Data Protection and GDPR.

I am CIPD Level 7 qualified and studied for the Level 3 BTEC in Education and Training in 2015 which allows me to train employees, volunteers and external delegates.  I have worked in Human Resources for 15 years and Equality and Diversity is a subject that I am extremely passionate about.  In 2017 I applied for SIL to become a Disability Confident Leader which means we promote Disability Equality and Diversity throughout the organisation.  As of today we are the only organisation in Herefordshire to be awarded the accolade.

Equality and Diversity are two of SIL’s guiding principles and my aim as a Trainer is to introduce staff to what this means to them particularly in social care and how we can promote equal opportunities and diversity, encourage open conversations and avoid unconscious bias.
