Caring and dedicated PA needed to support an 18 year old girl with cerebral palsy.

Support needed with personal care, gastrostomy feeding, manual handling, leisure activities and hobbies.

35 hours per week available Monday Friday evenings 3pm-9pm plus 2 overnights per month.

About Me

This position is to provide personal assistance to my daughter. She is 18 years old and lives in Hereford with her mum, younger sister and brother. She has severe cerebral palsy in all four limbs and is gastrostomy fed during the night using a feeding pump. Full training will be given although gastrostomy feed experience would be an advantage.

Job details

Personal care.

• You would be helping me with tasks such as bathing and dressing, and changing soiled nappies as necessary.

Preparation and cooking of some meals

• Your role is to include feeding my daughter through a gastrostomy, and cleaning the equipment afterwards. As this is such an important part of your job, your level of hygiene must be extremely high.

Hobbies and social activities

• My daughter enjoys a brief trip to the park opposite my house, you will need to support her.
• When providing care during the day, you will be required to play with the children and keep them entertained and fed

Safety

• To be aware of security and safety issues (making sure that doors are locked whilst being aware of possible fire escape plans).

Other small jobs

• Taking messages when people call the house.
