Charity of the Year 2026: Herefordshire Growing Point

At SIL, we are dedicated to giving back to our community and each year we select a Charity of the Year, dedicating our social events to raising funds in support of their work.

For 2026, our chosen charity is Herefordshire Growing Point, which helps people living with physical or mental challenges or ill health, to enjoy the therapeutic benefits of gardening. They work with adults, young people and children across Herefordshire and their horticultural therapy has been making a real difference to the lives of vulnerable and disabled people for more than 30 years. Growing Point helps its service users by:

• Improving physical and mental fitness
• Increasing skills
• Providing wellbeing and sensory stimulation
• Building confidence and self-esteem
• Rebuilding life after illness or accident
• Fostering social interaction
• Enabling a move into employment
