Receiving a Direct Payment (DP) will put you in control of your care, but naturally this will bring responsibilities. You will need to account for your money, make returns, report back to the local authority (LA) and ensure all your bills are paid on time. To help ease the pressures of managing your own funds we offer a managed account service, these incudes us making all the payments to your Personal Assistant (PA), Care Agency, HMRC etc. 

SIL can help with your preferred option.

Managed Account

  • SIL will hold the Direct Payment and any contribution you need to make on your behalf
  • We will pay your PA, HMRC, Pensions, Insurance and any invoices relating to your Direct Payment
  • We will pay the invoices we raise for the services we provide by a direct debit from your Direct Payment account
  • We liaise with your Local Authority and provide them with the all the information required for the monitoring of your Direct Payment 

Own Account

  • You hold and manage the DP funds and make the returns to the LA
  • You organise and pay for any insurance that is required
  • SIL runs the payroll and sends you the payslips for you to pay your PAโ€™s, as well as HMRC and pension payments 
  • The invoices we raise for the services we provide will be paid by a direct debit from your DP account
  • You will be responsible for making sure the funding is spent correctly and in line with your support plan
  • You will need to keep copies of all invoices, pay slips etc that are paid out of the DP account
