The Direct Payments Support Service (DPSS) offers a confidential and discreet payroll service for employers who employ their own personal assistants (PA). With thirty yearsโ experience, we offer a fast, accurate and reliable payroll service which is up to date with all current legislation. We provide full support, explanation and advice to meet each employerโs specific needs
What our payroll service includes:
All employers, no matter how small, have to offer their employees a workplace pension, however, we can provide support with getting this up and running if needed.
To act as your agent with His Majestyโs Revenue and Customs (HMRC)
- Fast and efficient processing of monthly and four weekly timesheets with a 5 working day turnaround
- Handling of new starters, leavers, Statutory Sick Pay, Statutory Maternity Pay, student loans, and all HMRC-related queries
- We produce and provide you with payslips for your PAs
- Support with holiday and redundancy pay
- Produce P60s and P45s as required
We will send you the relevant forms that need to be completed, signed and returned to us
We will register you as an employer with HMRC
We will apply for authorisation to act as an agent on your behalf

SIL will give you some new starter forms which will need completing and returning every time you take on a new employee
Our payroll team will provide you with timesheets for you to record when your PAโs work their hours. We will also provide you with a list of dates by which you will need to submit these timesheets. This will be either via email payroll@s4il.co.uk or by post. Our friendly payroll team will then run your payroll accordingly and send the payslips to you for you to pass onto your PAโs.

A confidential, helpful approach
Set up with our pension provider if your PA qualifies or chooses to have a pension
Completing the Declaration of Compliance via the Pensions Regulator website
Completing the duties checklist via the Pensions Regulator website
Nominating SIL as the primary contact with the Pensions Regulator
Obtaining your staging date
Liaising with the Pensions Regulator on all matters
Ensuring pension contributions are correctly calculated and deducted at source
