Being a carer is so much more than just doing a job. It’s about using your skills, humour and compassion to make a real difference to someone’s quality of life.
We offer a range of care services from 30 minute companionship visits and welfare checks, through to 24 hours a day, 7 days a week complex care.

You don’t need any formal training to join us at SIL – we will give you all the training you need to be a confident and capable carer. What you do need is a caring personality and a sense of humour.
What you will learn very quickly is that you already have the skills that can make a real difference to someone’s life. You may be the only person they see all week – the one thing that makes them smile.

Becoming a care worker
We don’t need you to have any experience of care work, we will teach you everything you need to know. All you need to provide is the right attitude and a full UK driving licence.
You need to be:
- Kind
- Caring
- Compassionate
- A good listener
- Have a good sense of humour
- Enjoy helping people
We will:

Employed externally
We support people who employ their own personal assistants and buddies.
This means that while you won’t work directly for SIL, you can be sure your employer will have all the support from us that they need to ensure you have a great boss and an enjoyable work life.
You will be trained to do the work required, so all you need to provide is the right attitude.
