Care and Support Assistant/Buddy

Happy and dedicated Care and Support Buddies needed in Hereford to support twin boys with Autism and Learning Difficulties. Support will be in the family home and out and about.

Personal Assistant to Disabled Twins

Salary: £12.71 Per Hour.

Location: Hereford

Hours: 10 hours per week per child

About Me:

We live with our Mum in Hereford we are both Autistic and non verbal. We are both happy, friendly boys that love attention. We are at our happiest when we are in the park or on the beach and can run free.

Both boys have a diagnosis of Autism, Learning disabilities plus behaviour and communication needs.

One twin also has epilepsy.

Job details:

You will be required to support both in the house an out and about. In the house it will be to keep us entertained so the Mum can have a break and get tasks done.

When out and about you at activities you will need to maintain our safety at all times, we don’t understand the concept of stranger danger.

There are some aspects of personal care involved

About You:

Previous experience of similar work is desirable but not essential, as I will make sure you get the training you need.

You must be able to understand the importance of confidentiality, be patient, calm, be a good communicator and have a good sense of humour.

Team work is important as well as being able to work on your own initiative, and have some flexibility to allow for holiday or sickness cover.

You will need to be a car driver/owner

About Direct Payments:

Direct payments are available from Local Authorities for people who have a care and support plan in place following a social care assessment. An amount of money is allocated to purchase the assistance and care needed to live independently.

We should stress that our will be your employer and have full responsibility for recruitment, contracts, supervision, pay, training etc. A support service assists her in meeting her responsibilities as an employer.
