Female Personal Assistant To Disabled Child – MT

Salary: £12.71 Per Hour

Location: Hereford

Hours: 6 hours per fortnight

Female P.A required to support Autistic teen to access activities in the community. The hours are 6 per fortnight however we are willing to be flexible e.g support could be provided in school holidays only.

About Me

I am 14 and live with my family in Hereford. My Mum describes me as sensitive quiet and shy until I get to know you. I prefer smaller groups and places that aren’t too loud like swimming and bowling. I also have a love for animals. I have experienced bullying so prefer to be out of Hereford when possible. Due to my diagnosis, I function at a 9-year-old level.

Job details

Your role will be to take me out to attend activities and finding new activities to go to,

that aren’t too noisy or crowded.

School is teaching me skills like dealing with money you will be asked to continue supporting this learning and teach other life skills, including building confidence.

No personal care involved just support to access public toilets when out for safety.

About You

Previous experience of similar work is desirable but not essential, as finding the right person is more important.

You must be Kind, calm and chatty, but willing to listen as I like a good chat when I get to know you

Maintaining confidentiality is highly important as is a good attitude to independence and to understand a disabled child and their choices

You will need to be a car driver and owner

About Direct Payments

Direct payments are available from Local Authorities for people who have a care and support plan in place following a social care assessment. An amount of money is allocated to purchase the assistance and care needed to live independently.

I should stress that my Mum will be your employer and have full responsibility for recruitment, contracts, supervision, pay, training etc. A support service assists her in meeting her responsibilities as an employer.
