Loneliness is prevalent across our society and can be compounded for people with health issues.
To help people reconnect with their community and interests GP’s can now refer them to Listening Support Volunteers. The Compassionate Communities scheme trains and supports these volunteers.
There are similar schemes finding success in towns and villages up and down the UK and now is right her in Leominster.
Leominster Compassionate Community
Co-Co are a group of volunteers, trained by St Michael’s Hospice, who visit people identified by the staff of The Marches Surgery as being lonely and needing befriending.
Are you interested in becoming a Co-Co volunteer? The next training is scheduled for 6pm – 8pm on March 9th, 16th and 23rd. The training sessions are given by St Michael’s Hospice via Zoom
