As a not-for-profit organisation, SIL is an organisation that aims to make enough money to cover its costs and any surplus is reinvested into the business to grow, adapt or improve and offer more or improved services. We will never use our income to pay out to Directors, Shareholders or the like. All our Trustees are volunteers.
We aren’t driven by figures! Although we do have to keep an eye on them; what we really care about is the people we support.
Our Mission is “to be the provider of choice for individual care and support, empowering people to lead an independent life” and we aim to do this through Our Vision “to enable people affected by disabilities to exercise choice and control, to live independent lives, and to actively participate in society”.
Our services are tailored to the individual to make sure they live the most independent and fulfilled life possible.
We are a registered charity, although the majority of our income comes from the services we provide. We support lots of other charities, either by raising awareness or holding fundraising events. Each year we chose a charity of the year to which we donate the proceeds from a calendar of events such as our Easter Extravaganza and Summer Garden Party.
We are driven by passion not profits.
