Frozen Light Theatre presents: 2065

A new production is coming to the Courtyard next month, Monday 28 – Wednesday 30 March at 11am and 1.30pm.

Frozen Light Theatre’s production of 2065 is a futuristic, sensory production for audiences with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD).

Frozen Light is renowned for creating engaging and high-quality theatre for audiences with PMLD through combining multi-sensory moments, live music, signing and poetic language.

Frozen Light Artistic Director, Lucy Garland, says; “Although set in a dystopian world, 2065 is ultimately a story of the power of people to change the world for the better. It holds a lot of joy and celebratory moments and this felt important to share during the pandemic. It is the ultimate privilege to be able to join our audiences on stage and share the magic of theatre with them once more.”

Care and Support Charging Consultation

Have your say on proposed changes to the Care and Support Charging policy

Herefordshire Council are reviewing how the Care and Support Charging policy affects people who receive care and support in their own home, in the community, or have short-term stays in a care home.

They are doing this to make sure that they are taking a fair and consistent approach to charging for care, and that everyone pays the appropriate amount for the services they receive, based on their needs and their ability to pay.

How can I have my say?

You can take part in the consultation online, over the phone or by email.

Closing date ?

The survey will close on 10th February 2022, so please ensure that you provide Herefordshire Council with your views before this date.

How can I find out more?

Your can out more about the current policy, the proposed changes and background on the Herefordshire Council website

How will they use my feedback?

They will use your feedback to help inform their decisions about any changes being made to the Care and Support Charging Policy. The results of this consultation will be published on their web page in an anonymous format in Spring 2022.

Scam Awareness

Scams come in many forms; uninvited contact is received by email, letter, and telephone or in person making false promises to con victims out of money. There are many of these sorts of scams but some of the most common are fake lotteries, deceptive prize draws or sweep stakes, clairvoyants, computer scams, and romance scams. The criminals attempt to trick people with flashy, official looking documents or websites, or convincing telephone sales patter, with the aim of persuading them to send a processing or administration fee, pay postal or insurance costs, buy an overvalued product or make a premium rate phone call.

Doorstep scams are crimes carried out by bogus callers, rogue traders and unscrupulous sales people who call, often uninvited, at people’s home under the guise of legitimate business or trade.

Where you can find help

Here are a few places where you can find help and advice on what to look to prevent being caught by a scam and what to do if you think you are victim of a scam. There is no need to feel shame or embarrassment; the techniques and tools used are very convincing and persuasive. If you’ve been the victim of a scam, remember you are not alone.

Herefordshire Carers

Herefordshire Carers provide activities and events for unpaid, family Carers in Herefordshire so as to give them a break from their caring role, reduce isolation, improve wellbeing and develop opportunities for peer support.

Who is a Carer ?A carer doesn’t have to be someone who lives with the person they care for or be related to them. If you care for them, then you are a carer.

Together with Worcestershire Association of Carers they also act as a voice for the Carers of Herefordshire. They facilitate and promote events where Carers can be represented and their views listened to, respected and valued.

Our activities are free of charge to Carers registered with us, so do please join us so that you can be kept up to date with events and activities, meet others in similar situations, improve your wellbeing and help to raise the profile of Carers in the county.
